We
have two showvans visiting
specific areas of the
country each week showing
our range of stock to
our customers, who can
then place orders to
be delivered the following
week by one of our two
delivery drivers.
Visits are announced the
week before via
newsletters that are sent out to our
customers letting them
know we will be in their
area if they would like
a visit. This is how we
do business today and by
and large it has been a
fantastic success!
Our exhibition vehicles
allow us to display much
more of our product range
as well as giving customers
more room to manoeuvre.
It even allows us to
have a comfortable sitting
area where salesman and
customer can sit to discuss
orders and the weather
without feeling boxed
in. Andy Mackonochie
explains, “we feel this
system gives our customers
a real service - they
can view
products in the flesh, handle them
and check out choices
of colour and so forth
before they buy. It also
enables us to have a
friendly, more personal
touch which is what our
business, as we know
it today, was built on”.
For Howard this is a
real change for the better,
going from a modest showvan
to a full blown ‘showroom
on wheels’. Howard says,
“it’s great because it
means customers can receive
a
visit right outside their
premises and see
our full range of stock
in a comfortable environment,
out of the rain and away
from all the noise of
the traffic”, he goes
on to say “it also means
that because it’s mobile
I can visit them at a
time to suit. Basically
Batik Indah can come
to them to show what’s
selling well, the latest
new lines, stock deals,
etc, at a time that’s
convenient for them”. |
