Naturally we would love
to answer your questions fully, so if you
have anything you want to ask us or are
unsure about, simply contact
us. However,
to save you time, we have listed the most
common questions we get asked below:
Batik Indah is a wholesale company and
therefore operates on a wholesale system.
All retail sales should be ordered via
our sister retail site at Sassak.
Payment
for all products should be made on delivery.
We accept most major credit cards, cheques
or cash.
.
We do offer our customers 30 days credit
through Barclays Sales Financing System
which is outlined further below. We would
like to point out that legal and beneficial
ownership of all goods shall remain with
the seller until full payment has been
received.
In order to offer our customers a 30
day credit period, we are pleased
to inform you that from 28th September
2004 we entered into a Sales Ledger Financing
Agreement with Barclays Bank Plc
.
In order to apply to Barclays for credit
we need only a few simple pieces of information
with regard to your business, (full trading
name, address and full names of all partners,
etc)
.
Should you choose to take
advantage of this credit period please
contact either Rachel Mackonochie or Claire
O’Reilly on 01579
348887 and
we will make an application to Barclays
for a debtor number. Following the success
of this, any outstanding invoices and
any future invoices will be purchased
by and are payable to Barclays. Barclays
will also send out Statements of Accounts.
You are under no obligation to take part
in our Factoring Agreement with Barclays
should you wish to pay us direct by cash,
cheque or credit card upon receipt of your
goods. Unfortunately, we do not offer a
30 day credit period ourselves, but appreciate
that not all our existing customers may
have been made aware of this.
We believe that our product prices are
very competitive and therefore we do
not include delivery into the price that
we offer to you. Any orders
above £250 are free of charge and will made via
one of our fleet of delivery vehicles.
Subject to availability, we aim to deliver
your goods within 6 weeks at the very
most. All items are sold from stock and
in the rare event that an item is not
available, we will contact you with details
of an estimated delivery date. Should
you require your order sooner we can
send them out via courier for receipt
within 3-4 working days. There will be
a surcharge for courier deliveries.
We offer delivery to any mainland UK address
but there may be a surcharge for delivery
to the Islands of mainland UK. Should this
be the case, we will contact you upon receipt
of your order to confirm the details.
We use TNT to send parcels and the price
for a consignment starts at £9.00 plus
VAT. The cost after that depends on weight
and we are happy to let you have more details
– please contact Jo Slater-Bishop, our
warehouse manager, on 01579 348686 who
will be very happy to help.
We use the freight company Pallex to send
out pallets to our customers. The cost
of ½ pallet starts at £35.00 + VAT and
the cost of a full pallet starts at £50.00
+ VAT. Again, the final cost of the pallets
depends on weight and the area of delivery
of the pallets so please contact Jo for
further details.
After
placing an order online a member of our
sales team will contact you to disscuss
availability and a delivery schedule. We
always endeavour to do this within 1-2
working days of you placing the order.
All orders are subject to availability.
If a particular item you require is out
of stock we can always offer you an alternative.
The minimum order value we accept is £200
before VAT.
We try to make placing your order as task
free as possible. Orders can be made
by phone, fax, email, or here online at
our website or via a visit from our exhibition
vehicle.
All products in our catalogue are hand
crafted by our suppliers in Java, Lombok,
Bali and India using traditional methods.
Minor variations or
irregularities are characteristic of these
handcrafted origins and occasionally there
is deviation in colour and grain of wood.
This is part of the finish and testimony
to the uniqueness of each piece. Our wood
is dried by our suppliers in their own
kiln to what should be considered acceptable
moisture content for a solid wood product
in this price region. Wood is a natural
fibre and as such can never be guaranteed.
However it is extremely rare that the structural
integrity of the item is compromised.
If you experience any wood reaction in
your product this can usually be remedied
although we feel that this naturally occurring
flaw actually enhances the character of
each product. Any splits or cracks can
be filled with dark furniture wax or simple
application of sandpaper, stain and wax
will rectify many irregularities. At Batik
Indah we make every effort to reduce such
instances, but by the very nature of the
product complete elimination is impossible.
Should you have any genuine problems with
your product please get in touch and we
will make every effort to make a replacement
or credit you.
Our furniture / crafts are of ethnic origin
and being timber based products they may
be subject to moisture movement over a
period of time as a result of climatic
differences between Indonesia and the UK
At Batik Indah we make every effort to
reduce such instances, but by the very
nature of the product complete elimination
is impossible. Should you have any genuine
problems with your product please get in
touch and we will make every effort to
make a replacement or credit you.
In the event of damage or other complaint
please advise us within 14 days of receipt
otherwise no credit or claim can be allowed.
